My first day at IIMT College of Engineering, Gr. Noida
It was a cold winter morning of 15 th January, 2020, when I had to join my new job as a Dean-MBA in IIMT College of engineering. My reporting time was 9 A.M in the morning, As distance of the institution is almost 25 Kms from my house I had to start at 7.45 AM.I got up sharp at 6.30 AM and got ready to join my new job. I booked a cab for the journey. It was around 45minuts ride from my house. I was welcomed by HR officials. The joining formalities were completed by them. I came to know that IIMT College is the best MBA college in UP. Placement record of best MBA department in Delhi/NCR. I was then directed to my cabin. In the second half there was a meeting with top management. A lot of information about the institution and the policies were shared with us. The vision andmission of the institution were discussed.
Then there was a meeting of the MBA department. I was told that last year the placement record was excellent. The average package was also higher than the previous year. I advised the team to include practicals in our teaching methods. It was decided that skill development activities will promoted.
Then I visited the class rooms and I was introduced with the students.I asked about the issues and suggestion from them. Many a good suggestions came and we implemented many of them.Once I settled in my cabin I went through the website of the IIMT Group of college.
I came to know that this campus has many different streams running parallely.Almost all the streams are there. Then I discussed about the pedagogy with HOD of MBA department. He shared many important information s with me .He informed that there is a academic review committee who takes care of all the academic activities, Time and again this committee inspects the quality of teaching and suggest improvement. There is a fixed way in which all the faculty maintains academic files.
All the teachers have to provide probable questions, notes and study materials to students so that they can use them for their benefit.
Then the discussion was on annual events. I was informed that annual alumni meet and cultural function is regular here.Every year alumni visit the campus and there were various activities arranged for them throughout the day. It is the best way the college is connected to the students.
Annual cultural and sports meet is organized every year to give chance to students to showase their talent and enhance their confidence. IIMT Group of College is helping the students in their overall development so that once they leave the campus they do well in their corporate jobs and they also prove to be good citizen till now the
institution has got success in these ventures.
The day ended and I had a very good experience of working in IIMT College of engineering. I will relish this day my life long.
